ARGENTINA THANKED THE CHILEAN AIR FORCE FOR SUPPORT IN RESCUE OF CREWMAN

An aeromedical evacuation took place yesterday, in order to evacuate a crew member of the Argentinian personnel of the Antarctic territory, who suffered an injury in his forearm.

The operation was performed by members of the Chilean Air Force, who took the crew member from Argentinian base Carlini to Teniente Rodolfo Marsh Aerodrome, which serves Base Presidente Eduardo Frei Montalva, in a Bell 412 helicopter.

There, a Hercules C-130, belonging to the Argentina Air Force, was in place, waiting to take the injured crew member back to the continent.

“The operation was successful, performed in good coordination with the Argentina Air Force, which allowed to have every necessary means at our disposal in order to support and safeguard the life of every person in this remote zone”, the Chilean Air Force informed in a press release.

The Argentinian Antarctic Joint Command (COCOANTAR) thanked General Eduardo Mosqueira Cruz, commander-in-chief of the Chilean IV Air Brigade, and it also remarked the good disposition and support in the aeromedical evacuation, along with the permanent collaborative and coordinated work between both institutions.
